Transitional Housing Program
Families live in scattered-site condominiums in Orange County, California. During their length of stay, they work with case managers to increase their self-sufficiency and gradually lessen supports. Our case managers emphasize educational and job-training programs that enable parents to raise their hourly wage.
Eligible families for this program agree to:
pay a monthly occupancy fee and utilities
save 10% to 30% of their income
be employed upon entry to program & throughout their stay in the program
set weekly and long-term goals
rehabilitate their credit and learn to budget
improve life skills
Families can receive subsidized child care at local centers, as funding permits. OC Gateway to Housing provides monthly bus passes for transportation. At the end of the family's stay, case managers help them find new homes.
OC Gateway to Housing no longer takes direct callers and self-referrals to our program. Our agency is part of the Coordinated Entry System-Family Solutions Collaborative. This is a new referral and assessment system for families experiencing homelessness in Orange County; through 211OC.
To reach 211OC, please dial 2-1-1 from your phone. You will then be connected to a 211OC representative, who will direct you to an Access Point, based on your location in Orange County.
211OC does not provide a direct referral to OC Gateway to Housing.
